DUOTTS C29 rental: questions and answers

Short answers you can check. If yours isn’t here, e-renty’s support team can help.

Q.01How much does it cost to rent a DUOTTS C29?

The monthly price depends on the plan: Basic 45,000 Ft, Plus 54,000 Ft, Max 60,000 Ft per month. On top of that there’s a one-off, refundable deposit of 20,000 Ft. Pay for the whole term upfront and you get a discount.

Q.02What’s the minimum rental period?

Terms are flexible and monthly; the current minimum is shown at checkout. Contracts run for up to 24 months.

Q.03Do I get the deposit back?

Yes. The 20,000 Ft deposit is paid once, with your first rental, and it’s refundable. Businesses don’t pay a deposit.

Q.04Do I need a registered business to rent?

No. You need a valid ID card or residence permit and proof of address. If you work as a sole trader or through a fleet partner, it’s worth uploading your business registration too, but it isn’t required.

Q.05Which documents do I need to upload?
  • ID card or residence permit, front and back
  • A selfie
  • Proof of address
  • Business registration certificate, if you have one (optional)

A driving licence is only needed for vehicles that legally require one; the C29 with 25 km/h assist does not.

Q.06How fast is the C29?

On public roads the motor assists up to 25 km/h, the EU e-bike setting. The 45–50 km/h quoted in some listings refers to an unlocked mode, which makes the bike a moped legally, requiring a licence, registration, insurance and a helmet. More on the spec page.

Q.07Do I need a licence or a helmet?

Under current rules, an e-bike whose assist cuts out at 25 km/h counts as a bicycle, so no licence is needed. A helmet is strongly recommended. Hungary’s highway code is being revised, so check official sources before you ride.

Q.08How far does it go on one charge?

The factory figure is up to 100 km under ideal conditions. In city traffic, with a 75 kg rider at 15 °C on normal assist, plan for roughly 65 km (an estimate). Run your own estimate.

Q.09How long does charging take?

5–7 hours, according to the factory. The easiest way is to charge overnight, at room temperature, with the original charger.

Q.10What happens if it breaks down?

Report it to e-renty. The bike goes to a certified repair partner, and the repair is usually done within 24–48 hours. You get a replacement bike where possible, and always on Max.

Q.11What if it gets stolen?

Every plan includes GPS tracking and theft insurance. If the bike is stolen, tell e-renty immediately; your rental contract sets out the next steps.

Q.12How can I pay?

By card, Google Pay or Apple Pay (through Stripe), or by bank transfer. Pay monthly, with the first month due at checkout, or upfront at a discount.

Q.13Where do I pick up the bike, and how do I return it?

Pickup is at an e-renty depot, at a time you book in advance, with staff present. Returns also happen in person at the depot; they can’t be started online.

Q.14What’s the difference between Basic, Plus and Max?

The bike is the same. Basic comes with one service point; Plus adds several service points and support from 09:00 to 18:00; Max adds a nationwide service network, 24/7 support, a replacement bike, priority repair and tire puncture coverage. GPS tracking and theft insurance are on every plan. Prices and details.
