DUOTTS C29 maintenance and battery care

§01Who does what

Your job, and the workshop’s

As the renter

  • Charge with the original charger, somewhere dry and at room temperature.
  • Check the bike once a week using the list below.
  • Clean off mud and road salt, especially in winter.
  • If anything feels off (a rattle, weaker brakes, an error message), tell e-renty straight away.

e-renty and its repair partners

  • Repairs at a certified partner, usually within 24–48 hours.
  • A replacement bike where possible; always on Max.
  • Priority repair and tire puncture coverage on Max.
  • Service points: Basic 1, Plus several, Max nationwide.
§02Weekly routine

The ten-minute check

Once a week, before you set off. If any step turns up a problem, don’t ride; report it.

  1. Tire pressure

Check both wheels against the pressure range printed on the tire sidewall. Low pressure cuts range and raises the risk of punctures.

  2. Brakes

Pull both levers: they should feel firm and not reach the grip. If a brake squeals or weakens, report it, and don’t touch the rotors with oily hands.

  3. Chain

Wipe the chain with a rag, then apply a little chain lube. Do it more often in wet weather.

  1. Bolts and axles

Check that the handlebar, saddle and wheels don’t wobble. If anything moves, don’t ride it.

  2. Lights and display

Switch on the front and rear lights and make sure the display starts without an error message.

  3. Battery mount

Make sure the battery is seated and locked, and that the contacts are clean and dry.

§03Battery

Rules for a long battery life

  1. 01

    Original charger

Use only the charger supplied with the bike. Another charger can damage the battery.

  2. 02

    Room temperature

Don’t charge below freezing, and after a cold ride wait until the battery has warmed up.

  3. 03

    Don’t run it flat

Draining to zero regularly speeds up wear. Charge more often instead.

  4. 04

    Longer breaks

If you won’t ride for days, store it about half charged, somewhere cool and dry.

  5. 05

    Heat

In summer, don’t leave the bike in full sun for hours, and don’t charge a hot battery.

  6. 06

    Damaged battery

If the battery has been knocked, is deformed or smells unusual, don’t use or charge it; report it at once.

§04Winter

Cold changes things

A lithium-ion battery delivers less energy in the cold, so expect less range in winter; the calculator assumes 15% higher consumption below 10 °C and 30% below freezing. Bring the battery indoors overnight and let it reach room temperature before charging. After salted roads, wipe down the chain and brakes.
